What does a Urologist do?

Urologists are surgeons who treat men, women and children with problems involving the kidney, bladder, prostate and male reproductive organs.   These conditions include cancer, stones, infection, incontinence, sexual dysfunction and pelvic floor problems.

What do I need to bring to my first appointment?

• On arrival please report to the reception desk

What should I expect at my first visit?

Your Urologist will review the information provided by your referring doctor, document your medical history and you may have a physical examination. They may decide to order further diagnostic tests before making any treatment recommendations.

Taxi and public transport

South Terrace Urology Day Surgery has a direct link with a taxi service providing an efficient service.  Trans Adelaide buses stop within walking distance of the practice near the corner of Hutt Street and South Terrace.
The closest stops are Stop 03 (on Hutt Street, just before South Terrace travelling from the Southern suburbs into the city) and Stop K1 (on Hutt Street, just before South Terrace travelling from the City toward the Southern Suburbs).  Contact Trans Adelaide on 8210 1000 between 7.00am and 8.00pm Monday to Sunday for timetable info.

Car Parking

There is usually ample council car parking on South Terrace. A set down/pickup area is available in the front car park entrance. It would be appreciated if patients and their carers park on South Terrace leaving the front park for disabled and ambulance access.

If anaesthesia is required, local anaesthesia will be used enabling you to go home immediately following your procedure.
